Riot police in the Czech Republic were engaged in a bloody battle with far-right protestors from the Workers’ Party during a march on Monday.

According to reports the marchers had strayed of their route and were heading towards a Roma suburb of Litvinov when police attempted to force them back. Several of the 500-plus protestors began hurling stones and gasoline bombs when police began using batons and tear gas.

The Workers’ Party has long targeted the gypsy population which has long been the victim of large-scale discrimination in the country.
