Jeff Brazier helps buy Pietersen shirt for charity

Jeff Brazier helped raise money for the Australian Flood victims' appeal after buying a share of the shirt Kevin Pietersen wore when England won the Ashes.

The 'Dancing On Ice' contestant was one of several celebrities to step in after the cricketer agreed to auction off his historic kit to help the rebuilding process in Brisbane - which was left devastated by the natural disaster in January - only for the winning bid of £31,000 to be revealed as a hoax.

Following a plea by Kevin's friend Piers Morgan, a number of stars including James Corden, Chelsea football player Frank Lampard, Chris Moyles and Philip Schofield agreed to make donations to raise the same sum for the kit.

Jeff put £2,000 towards the bid and later contacted the sportsman via his twitter account @JeffroBrazier about his donation, writing: "@kevinpp24 great cause & unfortunate circumstances KP! Waiting for someone to let me know where to send the cheque?! (sic)"

After raising more than the original fake winning bid, Piers tweeted: "Thanks to everyone who helped beat the hoaxer, much appreciated. Twitter power at its best. I'm off to my dayjob now. (sic)"
