Alex Jones is the first celebrity to be lined up for the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'One Show' host impressed BBC bosses with the way she handled her former co-host Jason Manford's resignation in the wake of the online sex scandal which engulfed him and now plan to raise her profile with a spot on the talent series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Alex has been a dream come true for 'The One Show'. She held the whole thing together and everyone's grateful. Bosses think it's her time to shine."
News of Alex's involvement in 'Strictly Come Dancing' comes after it was revealed last week former contestant and 'Countryfile' presenter Matt Back will join her as co-host on 'The One Show'.
He said: "I'm over the moon to be joining 'The One Show' as a full-time presenter.
"The BBC has made everything possible so I can continue presenting 'Countryfile'. It's the ideal combination for me and I can't wait to get started."
Alex's next role will be co-presenting charity contest 'Let's Dance For Comic Relief' - which sees celebrities pay tribute to iconic dances, both solo or in groups over three weeks - with her ex-boyfriend Steve Jones.
