Driver Carl Long and Fleur-De-Lis Motorsports Ready for 2011 Nationwide Series
Veteran driver Carl Long will be behind the wheel of the number 68 Fleur-de-lis Motorsports Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for owner Craig Partee.
Fleur-de-lis Motorsports was formed in June of 2010 and made their racing debut at Daytona International Speedway in July. Long and Fleur-de-lis Motorsports had their first success at Michigan International Speedway where the team scored a 31st place finish. Then it was on to Richmond where Long and Fleur-de-lis Motorsports scored a 39th place finish. Their final effort in 2010 came at Charlotte Motor Speedway in October.
Carl Long is a 27 year veteran of racing and has competed in many different divisions of NASCAR. Long started his career in 1983 and won the 1987 track championship at South Boston Speedway (Virginia). Long won the Street Stock Championship in 1990 at Orange County Speedway ( North Carolina). In 1997 Long joined the ranks of NASCAR in the Slim Jim All-Pro series winning Rookie of the Year honors. The following year he recorded his first victory in the series at Bristol Motor Speedway and won Best Sportsman of the Year honors. More recently Long has experienced success in the ARCA/REMAX and Camping World Truck Series of NASCAR. Carl Long has won 49 races in his storied career. Carl believes win number 50 will come in 2011 with Fleur-de-lis Motorsports.
Fleur-de-lis Motorsports crew chief Morris Van Vleet like Carl Long is a seasoned veteran and well respected by his peers. Van Vleet, an experienced mechanic and crew chief brings a wealth of experience to Fleur-de-lis Motorsports. He was formerly a mechanic and crew chief for Morgan Sheppard Racing, a car chief with Herd Racing in 2009, and in 2010 was the crew chief with Daisy Ramirez Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series before moving over to the Fleur-de-lis Motorsports in June of 2010.
Fleur-de-lis Motorsports owner Craig Partee and GMAXX Marketing CEO Tina Kennedy are working closely together to help ensure the teams success both on and off the track. This powerful duo will be a force to be reckoned with in 2011.
