Boy has 31 fingers and toes

A Chinese boy who has 31 fingers and toes is set to have an operation to remove his extra digits.

The unnamed six year old has five extra fingers - including one which forks out from his right thumb - and six extra toes, beating the former world record of most digits which was 12 fingers and 13 toes.

Three fingers on each of the boy's hands are also fused together by skin.

Now doctors are working to remedy the condition, known as polydactyly, and intend to reduce his digits to the normal amount.
