Dustin Pedroia, the hard-nosed second baseman for the Boston Red Sox, has been named the American League MVP after collecting 16 of the 28f first-place votes from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.
Pedroia hit .326 (2nd in the AL) on the year while collecting 213 hits (tied for first in the AL) with 17 HRs and 83 RBIs while walking 53 and striking out just 52 times in 653 at bats.
