Drug Addiction and Drug Addicts Can Change

Change Is Part of Recovery Process

Drug addicts can’t change.

Drug addiction can’t be changed.

Are these statements true?

Change is something that drug addicts hope for and parents often pray for.

“But is change really possible?” asks Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon Drug Rehab Georgia. “Change is often feared by some, but one thing is certain: if an addict doesn’t change, life will be miserable, not only for themselves but for everyone around them.”

Anyone looking for drug rehab help should be hopeful that change is possible, and be prepared to change their life and actions. Only in this way can there be lasting recovery.

Drug addiction does not have to be a perpetual curse. Get treatment and live a happy drug-free life.

Successes from drug rehab shows that change can be achieved:

“I realized today that when things change a whole new aspect is added to your life – brightness is brought in. Change is good and the ability to stop is good because it shows progress in life and overcoming the uncomfortable and misunderstood rather than hiding it with drugs.  This course makes me realize a lot about my life and the things that fell apart.

"My addiction is a prime example.  I started using, changed my addiction to heavy drugs and never could stop and it buried the opportunities because my addiction had no control.  I then became blurry minded and couldn’t change.

“The difference now is that I’m aware of my addiction and I’m making a change to open the opportunities that my life has waiting for me- the ones that addiction did not let me see.”

If you know someone with a drug problem, send them to Narconon – we have a 76% success rate.
