Russell T. Davies is considering leaving 'Torchwood'.
The creator recently penned his fourth series of the 'Doctor Who' spin-off show and has hinted he may move onto other projects once the new 10-part 'Miracle Day' is completed but doesn't want the programme - which stars John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper - to end for good.
He told BBC News "It's interesting as to how long I can stay in the science fiction world. Personally I think I'm coming to the end of it now and I've saved the world and blown up the world too many times.
"It's time to write something just where people talk in kitchens, at least for me. But I hope we literally leave the franchise in a very strong position [so] that other writers come in and take it over."
Though he is thinking of leaving the programme, Russell admits he never stops thinking about it.
He told BBC News: "In a way for me, 'Torchwood' never went away because it always lives in my head. Gwen Cooper and obviously Captain Jack, it's their fourth year of stories now. It's kind of like they have become modern legends. I love that."
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that 'Doom' actor Ian Hughes has joined the cast of the show, in which he will play mystery character Ralph Finch.
