Table dancer Alex Winston

Alex Winston dances on the tables of audiences who don't watch her play.

The 'Locomotive' singer has recently returned to Europe after making her live debut in England last year, but said she has learned how to make people listen to her the hard way on previous tours in her native US.

She told BANG Showbiz: "For two years I was Ted Nugent's opening act, so a lot of the travelling I did was with him, and we did some of the most bizarre shows you could imagine. One show we played was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in The Roadhouse, and I'd never played anything like that before.

"There were huge tables, prison style tables, and the audience were just stuffing their faces with ribs and BBQ while we were playing on stage.

"The crowd were way more interested in their cut of meat than anything that was happening onstage. I just got so angry that I would end up walking on the tables trying to get their attention, it happened a couple of times."

Multi instrumentalist Alex, 21, also said she's excited about her first proper foray into Europe but she doesn't want it to be her last, and she is keen to win over a fan base who will stick with her.

"I've toured the US a couple of times but Europe is such an amazing experience so I can't wait.

"It's scary because I'm not trying to be a buzz act that just comes by then disappears, it' funny because you read all these things like 'new to the scene' but I've been working my a*s off."

Alex's European debut 'Sister Wife' will be released on February 21.
