Charlie Sheen furious with detox advice

Charlie Sheen was furious when a close friend urged him to detox.

The 'Two and a Half Men' star - who was recently hospitalised after an alleged 36-hour alcohol and cocaine binge - is undergoing rehab at home in Los Angeles with a team of professionals he assembled himself but close friends think he needs to enter a facility in order to fully overcome his troubles.

A source said: "Charlie was told by a trusted adviser that he needed to go somewhere and detox for at least 90 days before he could even begin to deal with his addiction to drugs and porn.

"He was disgusted when he heard that and told the adviser that he just needed to get back to work man, and then everything will be fine.

"Charlie's father Martin [Sheen] was present when Charlie was told this, and Martin encouraged his son to take the advice. Sadly though, Charlie shirked it off.

"He got extremely upset with the adviser after his father left, accusing him of siding with his dad. But, the adviser was unwavering in his position."

While Martin is said to be distraught by his son's wild behaviour, he has "all but given up hope that Charlie will go to rehab".

The source also claimed Charlie wants to return to work soon, revealing he has set a deadline for himself of "the end of February, at the latest".

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old actor has defended his recent behaviour, insisting it won't affect his work.

He texted RadarOnline.com saying: "I'm fine. People don't seem to get it.... Guy can't have a great time and do his job also?"
