Most Wanted Fugitive Paul Merle Eischeid Arrested

The U.S. Justice Department released a statement Friday saying a man on the “15 Most Wanted” list has been captured. Paul Merle Eischeid, who is wanted for the 2001 murder of 44-year-old Cynthia Garcia, was taken in to custody Thursday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Eischeid, 39, was put on the Most Wanted list in 2007, four years after he began running from authorities. He was a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang when he allegedly beat Garcia while at a party at the gang’s clubhouse in Mesa, Arizona. Garcia was taken to the desert, stabbed and left to die.

“She was severely beaten, had 27 stab wounds, was almost partially decapitated, stuck in a trunk and dumped in the desert. It doesn’t get more grisly than that,” said U.S. Marshal David Gonzales.

Two years after Garcia’s murder, Eischeid was arrested on multiple charges, including drug trafficking, kidnapping and murder. Due to his history as a Charles Schwab stockbroker, Eischeid was out on electronic monitoring and released. He then fled Arizona.
