Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay has confirmed the death toll in an explosion at a factory in Ankara has risen from four to six. The explosion occurred Thursday in a building where hydraulic machines are manufactured. At least 27 people suffered injuries.
Rescuers continue to dig through the rubble for more survivors. There have been conflicting reports on what caused the blast. The Ostim district mayor said it was likely caused by a gas leak while the mayor of Ankara said it may have been sparked by an oxygen tube being mishandled by an employee.
An hour after the factory explosion, another blast occurred at a paint shop in the same area. According to reports, six people were killed in that incident.
