Johnson Beharry keen to return to Iraq

Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry is keen to return to Iraq to get "closure".

The 'Dancing On Ice' star - who was awarded the Victoria Cross in 2005 after driving his fellow troops to safety, despite sustaining horrific brain injuries - revealed he wants to go back to the war-torn country to see if he can recall the two incidents which cost him half his brain.

He explained: "I would like to go back to where everything happened to try to see if I can get closure, because I can't remember where it happened or how it happened

"I lost all my memory of it. I am always in pain, but I have never let it stop me. It is mind over matter and I carry on. It is important to go back, even if the end result could be a tricky one. I'm confident that I can go back and get closure. I believe everything is in the mind."

The war hero - who is partnered by Jodeyne Higgins on the ITV1 show - also admitted his brain injuries are starting to have an impact on his 'Dancing On Ice' performances, as he's finding difficult to learn tricky routines.

Johnson added to The Sun newspaper: "It's been really difficult learning my routine this week. Early on I had a total memory block. Each contestant has to skate the length of the rink alone and the footwork was too much."
