Tamara Mellon's thrill at red carpet Choos

Tamara Mellon still gets excited when she sees celebrities wear her shoes.

The Jimmy Choo president admits it's a thrill when stars don her company's designs on the red carpet as it proves that she's good at what she does.

She said: "It's still exciting and rewarding. We have the awards season coming up now, with the BAFTAs and the Oscars, and every time I see a pair of Jimmy Choos on the red carpet I have a huge smile on my face. That's how you know you're good at what you do."

Tamara says she knew Jimmy Choo had become a success after a reference was made to them in the fashionable TV series 'Sex and the City'.

She said: "The breakthrough moment was in an episode of 'Sex and the City', when Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie is running to catch the Staten Island ferry but misses it after tripping and calls out, 'Wait! I lost my Choo!' "
