Jennifer Metcalfe was voted off 'Dancing On Ice' last night (06.02.11) in a shock elimination.
The 'Hollyoaks' actress - who plays loudmouth Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap - broke down in tears as she was given the boot following a skate-off against US rapper Vanilla Ice.
Despite being given the fifth highest result by the judging panel - Emma Bunton, Jason Gardiner and Robin Cousins - the 27-year-old star was forced to skate for survival after failing to receive sufficient public votes to secure a place in the ITV1 show next week.
Presenter Phillip Schofield told the tearful actress it had been a "shock result" as Vanilla Ice was unanimously saved by all three judges, who agreed neither of them should have been in the skate-off.
Jennifer - who skated to Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time' - explained she had wanted to stay in the show for the sake of her professional dance partner and rumoured boyfriend Sylvain Longchambon.
She said: "I can't really speak. I just wanted to get further for him. He's put so much time into me. I've enjoyed every bit of it."
However Jennifer's exit from last night's Las Vegas-themed episode was overshadowed by a furious spat between head coach Karen Barber and judge Jason Gardiner.
The pair had locked horns over the performance of soldier Johnson Beharry earlier in the night, which then spilled over to the results show.
A tearful Karen - furious at being talked down to by Gardiner - pointed a finger at him, saying: "You have said more than enough tonight. You're a nasty, nasty man, you really are."
