A German man is in trouble after calling the fire brigade - to rescue his beer.
The unnamed 44 year old - who police say was drunk - was distraught to see the train he had just departed from for a cigarette pull away from Kaiserslautern station with his alcoholic beverage still on it.
In desperation he smashed the protective glass around a fire alarm, calling local fire fighters to the scene.
The man - who injured his hand - could now be charged with the misuse of emergency services.
A statement from the fire service said: "There was no real emergency."
