The Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) are fighting to keep their lead in the AFC North while the Cincinnati Bengals (1-8-1) are just fighting to look like a football team and on Thursday night the two teams will meet in what appears to be a huge mismatch.
Pittsburgh hasn’t lost inside their division while the Bengals haven’t won, not surprising for a team that has managed to produce just 138 points in their ten games thus far. That isn’t a very positive sign for the Bengals as the Steelers have the #1 ranked defense in the NFL allowing just 15 points per game.
The Steelers allow 68 yards rushing per game and their passing defense has limited opponents to just 169.2 yards per contest. That defense features two of the NFL’s top five sack producers in James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley and is anchored by safety Troy Polamalu who has collected four interceptions.
Offensively the Steelers haven’t exactly been clicking as Ben Roethlisberger has struggled but they still have Hines Ward as a reliable receiver and the running attack led by Willie Parker.
It is difficult to find a positive for the Bengals and on Thursday it was announced Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson was deactivated from the team after showing up to a meeting late. If a Bengals fan wanted something positive they could hang their hat on being undefeated in November, they beat Jacksonville on Nov.2, had a bye-week, and then tied the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
