Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson will reportedly open this year's Grammy Awards.
The two singers will team up with three as-yet unannounced artists from other genres to open Sunday's (13.02.11) event with a tribute to soul singer Aretha Franklin.
According to music industry blog Wayne's World, the 68-year-old star – who is rumoured to be suffering from pancreatic cancer – may also make an appearance at the ceremony, which takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
It was revealed last week that Sir Mick Jagger is to perform at the Grammys for the first time.
The Rolling Stones frontman is to take to the stage at the 53rd Grammy Awards as part of a special tribute to soul legend Solomon Burke - best-known for his hit 'Everybody Needs Somebody to Love' - who died in October last year at the age of 70.
Neil Portnow, president and chief executive of the Recording Academy, said: "We're thrilled, delighted, excited and very much looking forward to Mick doing his debut on the Grammy stage.
"It's extraordinary to many of us that the fact is, this will be the first time; he has never performed on the Grammy stage."
Other performers at this year's event include Eminem – who is nominated for 10 awards – Katy Perry and Arcade Fire.
