NFL Scores Week 12: Pittsburgh Steelers Keep Hold of AFC North Lead with Win Over Cincinnati Bengals

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 243 yards and a touchdown while adding an 8-yard TD run, Santonio Holmes had 84 yards receiving and the running game of the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) chewed up 121 yards in a 27-10 pounding of the lowly Cincinnati Bengals (1-9-1) on Thursday night.

The Bengals jumped to the lead in the first quarter after Ryan Fitzpatrick hit Glenn Holt on a 10-yard touchdown pass but Roethlisberger evened the score early in the second frame when he found Heath Miller on a 3-yard toss. Jeff Reed added a 37-yard field goal late in the half and the Steelers went into the locker room with a 10-7 lead.

Reed extended the lead to 13-7 in the third quarter with a 38-yard field goal and Gary Russell scored on a 2-yard run with 16 seconds left in the frame as Pittsburgh carried a 20-7 advantage into the fourth. The Bengals managed to put three more points on the board halfway through the final quarter when Shayne Graham connected from 26-yards out but Roethlisberger capped the night off with an 8-yard touchdown run.

The win kept the Steelers atop the AFC North, one game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens in the loss column. Once again it was the Steelers defense that came up big as they limited the Bengals to just 208 yards of total offense and just 43 yards on the ground.
