Tom Ford plans low-key London show

Tom Ford is planning a low key presentation for London Fashion Week this month.

The designer will show his eagerly-anticipated second womenswear collection at the prestigious UK fashion event by holding intimate press and sales appointments for a select group rather than the full scale catwalk show favoured by other fashion houses.

The former Gucci creative director returned to female fashion last year after a six-year break with a star-studded fashion show at New York Fashion Week which included Beyonce Knowles, Lauren Hutton and Julianne Moore.

However despite the celebrity endorsement Tom has previously revealed he thinks his clothes can be worn by women of every age, shape and size.

He said: "The collection was designed for different women of different ages, with different body types and different personalities. Whoever you are, what we do is help you develop your own individual style."

He added: "I want to concentrate on real women and the real customer. That was also one reason last night I showed on idealised versions of our real customers, all different women of all different ages. It was all about individuality, individual style, different body types, women who have their own style."
