Ne-Yo sued by manager

Ne-Yo is being sued by his former personal manager, for the second time in five years.

Munir Mahmud has filed papers against the 'Beautiful Monster' hitmaker claiming he cheated him out of royalty payments along with breaching the terms of a previous settlement made in 2006.

In court papers obtained by RadarOnline.com, Mr. Munir's lawyer said: "This is a civil action for breach of settlement agreement which resolved prior action. This is the second time Plaintiff has been forced to file suit against Defendants for failing to pay monies expressly due to Plaintiff."

The document added the singer - whose real name is Shaffer Smith - is "in violation of the terms of the settlement agreement, despite repeated inquiries from Plaintiff, Defendants failed to submit to royalty settlements to Plaintiff identifying the amount of royalties paid to Smith in connection with the publishing and performance income, as required".

Now along with demanding the singer pay his legal fees and requesting a trial by jury Mr. Munir is seeking a court order to allow him to examine the singer's accounts to determine how much compensation he is owed.

The papers state he wishes to "audit and inspect their books ... for the purposes of determining and verifying precision the amounts due and payable to Plaintiff".

Last year, Ne-Yo and his booking agent Mike Esterman were ordered to pay damages of $156,000 for failing to appear at a 2008 New Year's Eve concert in Washington State.
