The 'X Factor' voiceover man has been offered a role on the US version of the talent show.
Peter Dickson - whose dulcet tones have been heard on the ITV1 show since it began in 2004 - is to fly out to Los Angeles later this month to talk to Fox executives, as Simon Cowell is keen to include him in the show.
Peter said: "Simon has said he'd like me to be the voice of the American 'X Factor'. I am being flown out to Los Angeles during Oscars week so I can meet the Fox executives to try to sort out a deal."
However, Peter admits bosses might not be in favour of him being the voiceover act as they are wary of making the show too British with Simon already confirmed as a judge and Cheryl Cole also lined up for a role.
He explained: "They have to decide how British they want the show to be, and whether they want a British voice and a British judge like Cheryl Cole."
But if he impresses US executives, 49-year-old Peter - who has two teenage sons with his wife Barbara - would be happy to relocate to Los Angeles during the filming of the series.
He added to The Sun newspaper: "I'm all set to go. I'm planning to relocate and get a place out there during filming."
Auditions for the show start in March and the final line-up is set to be revealed over the coming weeks.
