Earthquake Off Coast of Sumatra Registers 6.8

A strong 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sumatra on Saturday night, about 100 miles southwest of Bengkulu.

There have been no reports of damages or casualties.

It was an earthquake off the coast of Sumatra in 1994 that caused a massive tsunami that left more than 230,000 dead in 11 countries.
