AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #3 Florid Gators Demolish Citadel Bulldogs, Set Sites on Florida State

Tim Tebow was 9/11 passing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, Chris Rainey collected 142 yards and a TD on seven carries and Emmanuel Moody added 116 yards and a touchdown on the ground as the #3 Florida Gators (10-1) demolished the Citadel Bulldogs (4-8) 70-19 on Saturday in what was little more than a warm-up for next week’s game against Florida State.

Tebow tossed a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter, a 16-yarder to Louis Murphy and a 43-yarder to Riley Cooper, and Rainey had a 7-yard touchdown run as the Gators built a 21-0 lead. That lead was inflated to 42-0 in the second quarter as Percy Harvin scored on an 11-yard run, Tebow hit Deonte Thompson on a 31-yard TD pass and Kestahn Moore scored on a 2-yard run.

Citadel finally got on the board when Scott Flanagan found Cam Turner on a 29-yard touchdown pass but Moore got the points back quickly on a 22-yard run and the Gators were up 49-6 at the break.

Things didn’t get any better for the Bulldogs in the second half as Florida put another 21 points on the board but it was obvious the Gators could have equaled their first half output.

Florida racked up 706 yards of total offense, averaging 14.1 yards per pass and 10.7 yards per run.
