Hurts are "intimidated" by the opera singer they feature in their live performances.
Theo Hutchcraft - vocalist in the British synthopop duo - explained he and bandmate Adam Anderson decided to have a tenor join them on their live shows because he can put "more emotion" into their tracks.
He explained: "He can sing more emotionally than I can. And he's an intimidating man to have onstage. He looks like our bodyguard."
The 24-year-old singer also revealed the pair once had a picture of a fan's grandmother in their dressing room, because they insist on covering the walls of wherever they are playing with photographs of local women.
Theo added to NME magazine: "We insist pictures of local women are hung on our dressing room walls every time we play a gig. That's true. We try to get as many as we can. In Amsterdam there were about 20.
"They're specifically not pornographic pictures. Just pictures of beautiful women like Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford and Agyness Deyn. We had an A3 picture of someone's nan. I was like, 'What's this?' They went, 'Do you not think she's beautiful?' I went, 'She is! I don't want to offend your Nan!'"
