Sam Attwater practising DOI headbanger

Sam Attwater has been practising the infamous 'Dancing On Ice' "headbanger" move.

The former 'EastEnders' actor - who has been top of the leaderboard on the ITV1 show for the past four consecutive weeks - explained he is keen to master the tough move, which will involve his professional partner Brianne Delcourt's head being just inches from the ice, as no male contestant has ever done it before.

He said: "No celebrity boy has done the head banger before so that's something I want to do - we've been practising it, so we're working on that at the moment so hopefully in the next few weeks it will be there.

"I want to do more new moves. We are experimenting with things and twisting it in our own way. I'm doing a combo of jumps this week and yesterday I went down quite hard on to my hip."

The 24-year-old star - who recently revealed he and Canadian-born Brianne have begun dating - admitted his new relationship is moving really quickly because of the instant connection the couple forged.

Sam added to ITV1's 'This Morning': "Everyone has a connection with their partner because you spend so much time together on the ice, off the ice and you get to each other so quickly - a week seems like a year, it's odd."
