A lorry driver caused a 100 sq mile blackout in China after he hit an electricity pylon because he was texting.
Sing Lu, 35, smashed his truck into the 200ft pylon in Tianjin, leaving it at a 45 degree angle and causing a huge electrical surge that plunged thousands of local homes and businesses into darkness for almost a week.
A police spokesperson said: "He said afterwards he had been texting on his mobile phone and hadn't been paying attention. Even so, it would be hard not to see something that size."
