by Daun Lee

Hewlett Packard gave tech industry experts a preview of their new tablet device. The computing industry continues to make innovating leaps in portable computing devices. The 87 percent increase in smart phone sales last year indicate consumers want technologies with web browsing capabilities that are easier to carry. Many PC manufacturers and Apple are trying to keep up with the demand for portable computing devices and are developing more tablets. Tablets feature touch screens and webcams for video chatting and internet based operating systems.

People who need computers for work most likely won’t abandon their laptop or desktop computers. For those individuals who want internet access without having to carry around a laptop that averages a weight of five lbs., the innovations in tablets is promising news for both consumers and search engine optimization by giving web access to people on the go. The average tablet weighs close to 2lbs. Though smart phones are extremely portable, their smaller screens make web browsing a little more difficult.

The easier to use tablets won’t replace smart phones but will make it easier to utilize and view the web.  The portable web browsing capabilities of tablets is promising news for web advertisers and search engine optimization; soon people will have access to the internet through a variety of technological devices. Once the pricing of tablets goes down more people will have access to the internet no matter where they are further boosting the need for internet advertising and search engine optimization.
