One Person Dies in Pennsylvania Gas Line Explosion

by Daun Lee

Late Wednesday night residents of a downtown Allentown neighborhood awoke to an explosion. Eight homes were leveled and one person lost their life when a natural gas leak caused an explosion and spread fire throughout the area. Several hundred people were evacuated.  The efforts of Fire fighters were hindered by the snow left from this winters record breaking storms. Five people are still missing but firemen continue to sort through the rubble.

Authorities from the local gas company aren’t sure what caused the explosion. This is the second gas explosion in Pennsylvania, one explosion occurred in Philadelphia last month killing a gas company worker and injuring five others. Both explosions involved the explosions of 12” gas mains and are still under investigation. Authorities from the utility company that maintains the gas lines say that determining the cause will take a good deal of time. Victims and family members of the people who died of these accidents will need to hire accident attorney to help them in this troubling time.

The victims of these accidents have more than just injuries to deal with they have also lost their homes which makes their suffering even more difficult to overcome. With the help of an accident attorney these individuals can seek compensation for their troubles. Once fault can be determined the negligent parties should be held accountable. The injured individuals should facilitate the expertise of an accident lawyer to recoup their huge losses.
