Monday Night Football Schedule: Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints Meet in Must Win Showdown

The Green Bay Packers (5-5) and New Orleans Saints (5-5) will square off in the Big Easy on Monday night with both teams needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. While the Packers are still in the thick of an NFC North title chase the Saints find themselves at the bottom of the NFC South despite a .500 record.

With a win the Packers would remain tied with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings atop their division and with a favorable schedule ahead they could easily earn a playoff berth.

For the Saints, a playoff ticket will take a miraculous run yet they certainly have the tools to get it done. Unfortunately for them they face one of the most difficult roads as they still have four teams on their schedule, other than the Packers, that are fighting for the playoffs.

The Saints are 4-1 at the Superdome while the Packers have posted a 2-3 record on the road. New Orleans only home loss came against the Vikings, a club Green Bay faced twice this year going 1-1.

Monday night should come down to one of the NFL’s elite passers in Drew Brees facing a Green Bay secondary that features the league’s top two interception leaders in Nick Collins and Charles Woodson. Tramon Williams is just one back at four as the Packers passing defense is ranked third in the NFL while the Saints feature the NFL’s top passing offense.

On the other side of the ball the Packers could feature Ryan Grant who is coming off a 145-yard rushing performance against the Bears who had the league’s fifth best rushing defense heading into that game.

Game time for Monday Night Football is set for 8:30 p.m. ET
