Eddie Jordan Fired as Washington Wizards Head Coach, Ed Tapscott Takes Interim Position

The Washington Wizards have fired head coach Eddie Jordan after the club opened the season 1-10, the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Without Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood the Wizards have struggled to find any type of rhythm to their offense while defensively they have been one of the worst in the NBA.

Jordan was in his sixth season with the Wizards and had led the club to the playoffs the past four seasons. Remarkably he had been the longest tenured head coach n the Eastern Conference before picking up his pink slip.

Washington’s 1-10 start is the worst since they started 1-10 in 1966 as the Baltimore Bullets.

Ed Tapscott will take the head coaching position on an interim basis.
