Eric Scott Takes Jet Pack Over Royal Gorge

Eric Scott has crossed the Royal Gorge, a 1,500 foot span, using only a jet pack and five gallons of fuel. The Denver man was not equipped with a parachute or any safety device as he passed above the Arkansas River.

Scott, a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, made a short flight over the Royal Gorge two years ago and had been preparing for the longer crossing for some time. On Monday he reached a speed nearing 70 mph to complete the Royal Gorge crossing.

Scott works for the Denver-based Jet P.I., which developed the jet pack for stunts and promotions.
