Patients who experienced problems with the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular Hip System or the DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System within five years and required revision surgery reported a number of symptoms. These DePuy hip symptoms included difficulty walking, pain and swelling. While these symptoms are normal following a hip surgery, if they recur or continue, this may be a sign of a more serious DePuy hip problem. If you or a loved one has been implanted the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular Hip System or the ASR Hip Resurfacing System, visit http://www.classaction.org/depuy-asr-hip-implant.html for more information on
DePuy hip failure symptoms and to receive a free legal case review.
Symptoms which may indicate
DePuy hip problems can be caused by hip implant loosening, fracture or dislocation. DePuy hip replacement loosening occurs when the ASR implant does not stay attached to the bone in the appropriate position, while fractures occur when the bone surrounding the hip replacement breaks. DePuy hip dislocation develops when two parts of the system which move against each other fall out alignment. Patients who are experiencing DePuy hip failure symptoms can contact their physician who will perform tests to determine if the hip replacement is functioning properly. In some cases, revision surgery may be required to replace the hip implant.
A higher-than-expected five-year revision surgery rate prompted DePuy Orthopaedics to recall the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular Hip System and ASR Hip Resurfacing System in August 2010. Due to the
DePuy hip recall, recipients of either device may be able to take legal action to recover compensation for medical bills and other damages. If you or a loved one has been implanted with one of these systems and experienced DePuy hip problems, visit Class Action.org to learn more about your legal rights and to receive a free online case evaluation, which can help determine your eligibility for a DePuy hip lawsuit.
