Second Victim in New Jersey Church Shooting Dies

A second victim in the church shooting in New Jersey over the weekend has died as police continue to search for the man responsible.

Joseph M. Pallipurath, 27, is believed to have travelled from Sacramento, CA, entered the St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church in Clifton on Sunday and shot his estranged wife in the head and then shot two others.

Reshma James, Pallipurath’s estranged wife, died at the church while Dennis John Mallosseril and James’ cousin Silvy Perincheril were rushed to a hospital where they were listed in critical condition. On Monday Mallosseril succumbed to his injuries and Perincheril remains in extremely critical condition.

Pallipurath was said to be upset with the collapse of his marriage, an arranged event formed by the parent’s of James. Mallosseril was said to be trying to intervene in an argument between the two when Pallipurath pulled a handgun and shot him in the head.

Authorities are now searching for Pallipurath across the U.S. He was last seen driving is green 1994 Jeep bearing California plates.
