St. John's Continues to build Impressive Resume

Red Storm beat Connecticut Huskies in lastest victory

The St. John's Red Storm have beat another ranked opponent in the Connecticut Huskies, ranked 9th in the country. This comes in the same season they beat the Georgetown Hoyas (13), the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11) and Duke Blue Devils (3).  With two ranked teams left on the schedule, St. John's is building a strong case to make the NCAA Tournament.

Dwight Hardy scored 33 points in the defeat of the Huskies and has looked good in earlier games this season.  The team has beaten all of these teams at home in Madison Square Garden.  Opposing schools have used games against St. John's to build recruiting reputations in New York City, but they may think twice before scheduling games there if the program continues to play to these high standards.

St. Johns plays in the Big East Conference which is loaded with ranked teams this year.  There may be one more when the new rankings are released Monday.  If St. John's cracks the top 25 they will be the eighth team from the conference to be ranked among the best in the country.
