Charlie Sheen notorious Hollywood Playboy has finally reached settlement terms with his estranged wife Brook Mueller. Their brief marriage ended after a quarrel on Christmas Day during which Sheen physically assaulted Mueller at a resort in Aspen Colorado. She accused him of holding a knife to her throat and threatened her life, an accusation he denies. Sheen admitted he physically assaulted her and was arrested. For this incident Sheen was ordered to enter rehab and was placed on three months’ probation.
This is the third failed marriage for the star, who reportedly receives a million dollars for each episode of his high ranking CBS television show ‘Two and a Half Men’. High paid celebrities employ divorce attorneys to protect their assets. The settlement didn’t award ongoing support for Mueller but did award her a lump sum of 757,000 and 1.25 million dollars, a share of the value of their home which Sheen will maintain ownership . Mueller will maintain physical custody of their children and was awarded 55,000 dollars a month for support of their two year old twin sons Bob and Max a rather generous settlement facilitated by a divorce lawyer. The terms of the settlement won’t be final until May.
This was Sheen’s third marriage and the odds were stacked against he and Mueller, statics show that third marriages end in divorce 73 percent of the time. The notoriety and wealth of celebrities make the need of a divorce attorney even more crucial.
