Free Tasting: Hirsch Small-batch American Whiskey, Feb 15 at Reserve 101 downtown Houston

Chase away those post-Valentine blues or celebrate with your sweetheart the day after with a free tasting of Hirsch Small-Batch Reserve American whiskey and 20-year-old Canadian Rye this Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. at Reserve 101, Houston’s premier downtown whiskey bar.

All this month, Reserve 101, located across from House of Blues at the corner of Caroline and Dallas, is offering free Tuesday Tastings of premium whiskeys.

The Hirsch brand history dates to 1753, when a Pennsylvania farmstead opened a small distillery long before Kentucky was settled.   That distillery is long gone now, but the Hirsch name survives, specializing in small batches of American whiskey and Canadian rye.

Reserve 101 is often the first or only bar in town to offer specialty whiskeys and has 130 varieties on its shelves, along with Martinis, Signature Cocktails, beer, wine, other liquors and specially concocted infusions:  Ever try tobacco-infused whiskey?  Or pecan and cinnamon, apple or peach infusions?

The bar is open daily, with frequent special offerings.

Those interested in fine American whiskey can register for the free Tuesday Tasting at: www.reserve101.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1&Itemid=95.  At the same link, visitors can also register for the free tasting on Feb. 22 of Maker’s Mark, Maker’s 46 Mint Julep and Reserve 101’s pecan and cinnamon Maker’s infusion.
