Afghan Police Arrest 10 Men in Connection to Acid Attack on Schoolgirls

Afghan police have arrested ten men tied to the Taliban in connection to a brutal acid attack carried out against a group of school girls in Kandahar.

Some of those men have confessed to the crime which left several girls with severe burns on their faces. While the Taliban denied involvement in the attack Deputy Interior Minister Gen. Mohammad Daud declared, “The attack was the work of the Taliban and we have not finalized our investigation.”

President Hamid Karzai has called for the public execution of those involved in the attacks that took place on Nov. 12.

On that date more than a dozen schoolgirls and female teachers were sprayed with acid by two men on a motorcycle just outside the Mirwais Nika Girls High School.
