Konnie Huq to be replaced on 'The Xtra Factor'?

Simon Cowell is reportedly replacing 'The Xtra Factor' presenter Konnie Huq with Georgie Thompson.

The TV boss is said to have lined up the Sky Sports beauty - who is dating 'Britain's Got Talent' presenter Declan Donnelly - for the ITV2 spin-off of 'The X Factor' after Konnie failed to impress viewers on the show last year.

Georgie, 33, who currently presents 'Sky Sports News' and regularly appears on Sky 1's 'A League Of Their Own,' was reportedly considered for the role last year but missed out to the former 'Blue Peter' presenter.

However, insiders say Simon now wants a new face and thinks Georgie is ideal.

A source told The News Of The World: "The 'Xtra Factor' job would be great for Georgie. She'll be fantastic."

Konnie, 35, was drafted in last year to replace Holly Willoughby but was said to have angered Simon by making a series of blunders which led to viewers to campaign on entertainment websites for her sacking.

One of her gaffes included saying to finalist Cher Lloyd:"What a night it has been for you, a night of dreams" - minutes after she was booted off the show.

A production source said at the time: "Simon Cowell hasn't been impressed and it seems certain she will be axed. Every week there seems to be a new mistake."
