Week 13 NFL Power Rankings ESPN: NY Giants Move to #1 in ESPN Rankings, Tennessee Titans Slip to #2
The New York Giants have moved up to #1 in the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings issued by ESPN following their road win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Eli Manning appears to have his club heading for a second straight Super Bowl as they look to be the dominant team in the NFC.
Slipping one spot to #2 after their loss to the New York Jets are the Tennessee Titans. Despite their unbeaten record heading into Sunday’s game the Titans failed to carry the air of invincibility and the Jets proved Tennessee still has a lot of work to do if they are to reach the ultimate prize.
With their win over the Titans the Jets jumped three spots to #3 this week and Brett Favre has his club flying high. The AFC East leaders still have some big games left but are already considered a dangerous team when the playoffs unfold.
The Pittsburgh Steelers remain at #4 this week after beating up the Cincinnati Bengals last Thursday night. Everybody loves the Steelers defense but questions remain about an offense that has struggled at times.
Tampa Bay held their #5 spot as well after toying with the Detroit Lions before blowing their doors off on Sunday. The Bucs fell behind by 17 but then buried the winless club 38-20.
Dropping this week were the Carolina Panthers who fell from #3 to #7 after their loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Arizona dropped a few spots after their loss to the Giants and the Washington Redskins fell three spots despite beating the Seattle Seahawks. The Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles each tumbled four spots after losses in Week 13
