Marion Cotillard set for Batman 3 role

Marion Cotillard has reportedly signed up to appear in the next 'Batman' movie.

The 'La Vie En Rose' star is set to appear in 'The Dark Knight Rises' - which is being directed by 'Inception' filmmaker Christopher Nolan - alongside Christian Bale, who returns for the third time as the caped crusader, and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

French newspaper Le Fiagro revealed: "Marion Cotillard will join the production this summer in Los Angeles, where she will share the bill with Anne Hathaway."

According to the report, Marion - who is due to give birth to her first child with Guillaume Canet in May - is scaling back her future projects to focus on motherhood.

The publication wrote: "The actress, who is expecting a child in the spring with Guillaume Canet, will be scarce this year. She'll do a single film and her choice fell on Batman 3."

Though Marion's casting hasn't officially been confirmed, it is expected she will play Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's al Ghul - played by Liam Neeson in 'Batman Begins' - and a love interest to Bruce Wayne, Batman's alter ego.

Filming on 'The Dark Knight Rises' is due to begin soon, with a projected release date of June 2012.
