Lacey Turner is to play the Bride of Frankenstein in a new BBC adaptation.
The former 'EastEnders' star - who played Stacey Branning in the soap - will portray Elizabeth Lavenza , the fiancee of the mad scientist in live BBC3 musical 'Frankenstein's Wedding' next month.
Lacey, 22, will be starring opposite Andrew Gower as Victor Frankenstein - creator of the out-of-control fiendish monster in Mary Shelley's novel - in the programme, which will be filmed in front of an audience of 12,000 people dressed in full wedding regalia at 12th century Cistercian monastery, Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds.
Of her role, Lacey said: "This is a fantastic project. I'm looking forward to it being live - it's definitely an adrenaline rush."
He co-star, Andrew, added: "Combining so many different elements - live acting, dance, drama and, of course, the large audience at home and at the performance - was just too dazzling to turn down."
The musical production promises to mix "live drama and contemporary music" and will see Lacey's character fretting over the wedding day while Victor worries about the carnage his creation could cause on the big day.
Lacey has had previous experience filming live programmes, having been a part of 'EastEnders' action packed 25th anniversary live episode last year, which saw her character revealed as a killer, while her husband Bradley (Charlie Clements) fell to his death.
Tickets to see 'Frankenstein's Wedding' on March 19 will be made available for free to the public from BBC3's website on Friday (18.02.11)
