Azure Noir to Release Addicted to Blue December 2

King and Morgan Merlot ask their listeners, are you Addicted to Blue?

Taking notes from popular artists such as Portishead, Massive Attack, Zero 7 and Birthday Massacre, the trip hop, gothic hip hop duo, King and Morguen Merlot of Azure Noir will be releasing their debut album entitled Addicted to Blue on December 2.  The thirteen track album featuring King’s musical composition and Merlot’s vocal talent will be hitting cyber space on online distribution outlets such as YourFindit Music, iTunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody, Napster and eMusic.

Opening with the mellow groove and haunting vocal harmonies of “When You Travel,” Addicted to Blue sets the tone of the album.  The music prepares the ears for an ambient, trancelike experience against the backdrop of a dramatic bass line that demands attention.  The simple yet soulful song is emotional, sad, with an underlying sense of surrender.

Fully emerged into the soundscape of the album by track 2, “Blue” is where wavering notes meet a thumping bass and the captivating voice of Morgan Merlot, revealing its listeners to a dream like world of “liquid audio that flows through your headset like syrup.”

Former emcee and producer, King, pours over ten years of music experience into Azure Noir.  After a brief collaborative effort with a Michigan based hip hop trio, and a solo venture exposing him to Portland's local radio and Thorn City Improv, King relocated to Las Vegas where he was introduced to the vocal talent of Morguen Merlot.

Morguen Merlot is the former singer of a Cleveland based band, In Winter.  After enjoying the status of being a popular local band, having headlined multiple venues, as well as opened for national acts such as The Birthday Massacre, The Genitorturers, Wednesday 13, and Lennon, Merlot found herself in Las Vegas where she began working with King, resulting in the music of Azure Noir.

The duo incorporated talent by guitarist Sick and bassist AC for live shows, performing live together for the first time at Dream City’s semiannual Ten Minute Max Performance Showcase.  The group performed during the shows intermission, putting Azure Noir along side performers such as MOLODI, Fefe & Ashia, Pierre Dube Taiko, Seraphina Fire and Jeff McBride.  Since then, King and Merlot have been working diligently to push the release of Addicted to Blue in addition to booking more shows.

Azure Noir’s next show will be at the Cheyenne Saloon at in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 19.  They will be performing with other artists and performers for a charity event.  Music starts at 8:00 pm.  Contact Azure Noir at www.yourfindit.com/azurenoir for ticketing information.
