A Malaysian woman saved her husband's life by hitting a tiger with a soup ladle.
Han Besau, 55, acted quickly when she saw the deadly beast leap on her spouse Tambun Dedin as he hunted for squirrels near their home.
After hearing her beloved's screams she raced outside armed only with the wooden spoon she was cooking with and bashed the big cat over its head, causing it to flee.
Tambun, who had tried to escape the tiger by climbing a tree but was dragged back down, paid tribute to his wife from hospital as he recovered from cuts and bruises.
He said: "I had to wrestle with it to keep its jaws away from me, and it would have clawed me to death if my wife had not arrived."
