An American woman has given birth to her own granddaughter.
When Sara Connell, 35, found out she was no longer able to conceive, her mother Kristine Casey offered to act as a surrogate.
She went on to carry and gave birth to her daughter and son-in-law Bill's son, Finnean.
Already a mother of three adult children, it was Kristine's first pregnancy in 30 years - and at 61 she is now believed to be the oldest woman in the state of Illinois to give birth.
She said: "The three of the happiest days of my life were giving birth to my daughters and I thought I could choose to do this for someone I love."
