Texas Follows Arizona’s Policy on Illegal Immigration

by Daun Lee

The border state of Texas wants to institute immigration laws similar to the ones enacted in Arizona. The subject of illegal immigration has become a serious point of contention for many states who feel like the US Government isn’t taking enough measures to curtail the influx of illegal immigrants. For many states across the country immigrants who are in the US illegally, become financial liabilities by using social programs that they don’t contribute to through taxes and creating more crime.

Although illegal immigration is not a new concern for states, the current budget constraints they face have once again brought the topic up for debate. The US welcomes hundreds of thousands of immigrants to become citizens every year. Legal immigrants contribute to a society both socially and economically but the ones who are here illegally can become a burden. Fleeing their native countries for more opportunities compels many to come to the US but if they stay here illegally they face deportation. With the help of an immigration attorney citizenship can be achieved and deportation avoided.

The time and effort expended to migrate to a new country can be immense and is worth preserving by applying for US citizenship. Without citizenship an immigrant cannot fully realize the benefits and opportunities available to them and risk the chance they will be removed. An immigration lawyer is essential to the immigrant who seeks naturalization.  Although naturalization is a complicated and intimidating process, the aid of an immigration attorney will make the transition easier.
