ECOtality, Inc. (ECTY) Starts Mass Manufacturing of Blink EV Charging Stations at Roush Manufacturing Facility in Michigan

QualityStocks would like to highlight ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ: ECTY). Headquartered in San Francisco, California, ECOtality is a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies.

In the company’s news Friday,

ECOtality has initiated mass manufacturing of the company’s Blink™ Level 2 Charging Stations via Roush Manufacturing at a modified automotive facility in Michigan.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and executives from each company attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and watched as the first Blink systems came off the line.

The Blink charging stations are the backbone of the diverse and ingeniously engineered charging framework designed by ECTY and deployed as an integral part of the US DOE-funded EV Project. A $114.8M federal grant created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, matched by private investment, brings the project value to roughly $230M.

The EV (electric vehicle) Project is being managed by ECTY and will be the biggest EV infrastructure rollout in history. The company will seamlessly monitor the network of residential/commercial, indoor/outdoor charging stations remotely, creating real-time situational awareness of usage, output and other data points in order to facilitate smart grid implementation.

Over 17 cities and major metropolitan centers in six states and DC will play host to the revolutionary nodal network of charging stations, enabling some 8,300 EVs to be deployed.

President of ECTY, Don Karner, noted unprecedented consumer demand during each stage of advancement through the EV Project, hailing the “stellar” reputation of Roush as an automotive OEM and expressing confidence that together the two companies will deliver a game changing solution for the EV market based on American-made charging stations.

CEO of Roush Enterprises, Inc., Evan Lyall, called the joint efforts of the ECTY and the DOE outstanding and welcomed the opportunity to apply Roush’s vast product development, composition, creation and testing experience directly to an evolutionary move into the EV industry at a time when demand is skyrocketing and all of the fundamentals are lining up.

This is a huge opportunity for ECTY to generate massive revenue for shareholders, for Michigan to take a leading position in the emerging EV sector and for EV Project participating drivers to get their hands on a free Blink Home Charging Station.

The Home version is unique in that it offers several advantages over conventional stations like advanced energy monitoring capabilities that enable users to easy optimize overall functionality and more importantly cost, as users can charge when rates are at their lowest. The Blink units can be installed inside and outdoors, and come in both hardwire and plug-in format.

Investors are encouraged to examine spec sheets and other data at the Blink Network website, www.blinknetwork.com.

The Blink Network charger interface is an intuitive means for users to check charge status, statistics and unit history.
