New Spider-Man movie named

Andrew Garfield's forthcoming Spider-Man movie will be named 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

Columbia Pictures has confirmed the title and the release date of the project, which will hit cinemas on July 3, 2012.

The Marc Webb-directed film is currently being shot, with British actor Andrew in the lead role and other stars including 'Easy A' actress Emma Stone and Welsh star Rhys Ifans.

Sally Field and Martin Sheen are also taking part in the movie, written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves.

Andrew recently confirmed he was "nervous" about the project - a prequel to the previous Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire - because he didn't want to "mess it up".

He said: "I'm very, very excited and nervous about 'Spider-Man' - I'm working hard to make sure I don't mess it up - physically, mentally, emotionally.

"It means as much to me as it does to everyone else. I can objectively look at myself and be like, 'You better not screw this up man. I'm going to be so p***ed off with you if you do.' "
