Alex Jones was "devastated" when Jason Manford left 'The One Show'.
The 33-year-old star forged a strong friendship with the British comic when they landed the job co-hosting the programme last July and thinks he will still have a long career, despite resigning from the show in November after sending a string of raunchy messages to women on social networking website twitter.
Alex said: "Jason and I became firm friends quite quickly because there was so much pressure on us. He's a great guy and we still keep in touch.
"I spoke to Jason about it all when it was happening, and, of course, I was devastated that he left. But Jason is one of the best comedians we have and I think he'll still have a great and long career. I think it was less of a big deal for him, compared to if it had happened to me, just because he's in a league of his own when it comes to presenting - he's not run of the mill."
Alex - who is now joined on the programme by Matt Baker - fronts the show on Fridays with Chris Evans and she admits working with the veteran broadcaster has taught her a lot.
She told the current issue of new! magazine: "Working with Chris is great but he's a bit of a whirlwind. He's a little bit nuts but he's a tremendous presenter who I've learned a lot from."
The Welsh beauty has also been taking advice from the programme's former presenter Adrian Chiles - who fronted the show with Christine Bleakley - because they live close to one another.
She said: "Me and Adrian live in the same apartment block. He's just a nice guy and I've asked him for advice a few times."
