'Comedy' Dave Vitty lands DOI tour slot

'Comedy' Dave Vitty has landed a place on the 'Dancing on Ice' live tour.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ - who is Chris Moyles' sidekick - blurted out the news he has landed the lucrative slot on his radio show yesterday (14.02.11) after he and partner Frankie Poultney were voted off the show on Sunday (13.02.11).

He said: "It's not over for me - I'm going on the 'Dancing on Ice' tour."

Guest Andi Peters interrupted him, saying: "You weren't supposed to say that - there is going to be an official announcement in two weeks."

Dave - who will land an estimated £50,000 from the tour - also admitted he is relieved to have left the competition as it was leaving him exhausted.

He said: "The thing you were dreading has finally happened - but now in the light of day I am looking forward to getting some sleep and seeing my wife and daughter.

"It's been brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed it."

The 36-year-old broadcaster has tipped Sam Attwater, Chloe Madeley or Johnson Beharry to win.

He said of the military veteran: "Johnson is a hero and his story is incredible.

"What he achieves each week is amazing. It may not be the most skilled person who wins this year, but someone who has made real progress, like Johnson. People love a journey."

So far, only last year's winner Hayley Tamaddon has been officially announced for the 'Dancing on Ice' tour.
